The West Indies players in a huddleBoard of Control for Cricket in India secretary Sanjay Patel has informed that the West Indies Cricket Board has sent "an apology letter" for the sudden cancellation of its India tour by their players after an internal payment dispute.

"We have received a letter from WICB a couple of days ago. It said that they are apologetic and bankrupt and they urged us to resolve the issue through the Disputes Committee," Patel told media persons in Mumbai on Monday.

However, there are reports from a reliable source in the BCCI that the world's richest cricket body has informally proposed to the WICB to part with 50 percent of its income earned through the ICC’s revenue sharing till 2023.

It is estimated that the WICB stands to gain US $100 million from the ICC during the next eight-year cycle and the BCCI wants at least US $50 million of that in instalments through to cover the loss of revenue.

The BCCI will reply after consulting its members during its November 20 AGM in Chennai.
