Following the triumph in the One-Day International series against England, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is all set to retain the team's support staff, comprising Sanjay Bangar, R Sridhar and Bharat Arun, which came in as temporary replacements for Trevor Penny and Joe Dawes.

Bowling coach Dawes and fielding coach Penny were asked to take a break following India's debacle in the Test series in England and replaced by Bangar, Sridhar and Arun. The Indian trio are now likely to get long-term contracts.

Apparently, the Zimbabwean fielding coach and Australian bowling coach have been asked to report to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore next week, a source said.

Their fate will be decided at the BCCI's Working Committee meeting on September 26.

- Fletcher should have been sacked!

'The players were very happy with the Indian support staff members during the ODI series in England and they could be retained for the home series against the West Indies next month,' the source added.

It remains to be seen if Penny and Dawes, who have a contract till the 50-overs' World Cup next year, are asked to continue at the NCA or sacked with immediate effect at the Working Committee meeting in Chennai.

The BCCI's Working Committee will also discuss the report of team director Ravi Shastri. The former India all-rounder will be made an offer to continue at the helm till the World Cup even as head coach Duncan Fletcher stays till the end of his contract.
