Board of Control for Cricket in India president Anurag Thakur ruled out any possibility of resumption of India-Pakistan cricketing ties after the recent Pakistan-backed terror attack on Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.

Thakur called Pakistan a 'sponsor of terrorism' and said there is 'no question of playing cricket with such a nation'.

"Priority is to expose Pakistan as a country which sponsors terrorism. No question of playing cricket with such a nation", Thakur said on Friday.

Thakur, who is also an territorial army officer, said, "India has defeated Pakistan in wars of 1965, 1971 and Kargil. It also defeated Pakistan in all World Cup cricket matches. It can decimate Pakistan anytime but it is more important to isolate it globally."

Earlier, former India cricket captain Kapil Dev had given a piece of his mind to a journalist for asking why Pakistan had not been invited for the third edition of the Kabaddi World Cup being hosted by India.

"If you are a Hindustani (Indian) you should not ask the question at all. Is it the time to ask this question?" Kapil had said.

India have not played bilateral cricket with Pakistan since 2012 when the arch-rivals clashed in a short bilateral series.
