Ishank Jaggi scored an unbeaten century while Ishan Kishan made 83 to hand Jharkhand the crucial first innings lead over Haryana in a Ranji Trophy Group B match, in Ranchi, on Wednesday.
Seasoned pro Jaggi remained unconquered on 127 of 213 balls, Kishan made 83 off 155 deliveries as Jharkhand finished day two on 311 for six in 91 overs in reply to Haryana's 208 all out.
Jaggi decorated his knock with 14 boundaries and one six, while Kishan struck 14 fours.
However, Jharkhand's did not have the best of starts as they lost four wickets for just 60 runs.
But then Jaggi and Kishan joined hands and the duo played sensibly to not only resurrect Jharkhand's innings but also take them past Haryana's first innings total.
Jagi and Kishan stitched 190 runs for the fifth wicket to steer Jharkhand out of trouble.
For Haryana, pace duo of Ashish Hooda (2/69) and Ajit Chahal (2/68) shared four wickets between them while leg- spinner Amit Mishra (1/48) picked up one wicket in his return to competitive cricket after a six month injury lay-off.
At stumps on Day 2, Jharkhand lead Haryana by 103 runs with four wickets in hand.

Gopal's fifer hands Karnataka 1st innings lead
Leg-break bowler Shreyas Gopal registered his best first-class figures to help Karnataka bundle out Hyderabad for 136 and take the all-important first innings lead in a Ranji Trophy Group A match, in Shimoga, Karnataka.
Gopal registered impressive figures of 5/17 while off-spinner Krishnappa Gowtham picked up three wickets for 56 as Karnataka bowled out Hyderabad in 64.4 overs in reply to their first innings total of 183.
Wicket-keeper Kolla Sumanth top-scored for Hyderabad with a patient 68 off 150 balls.
Karnataka were 127 for four from 49 overs in their second innings at stumps on the second day of the game.

Indrajith leads TN fightback with ton against Mumbai
B Indrajith scored an unbeaten ton to lead Tamil Nadu's fightback as the team finished day two at 239 for 5 in response to Mumbai's 374 in a Ranji Trophy Group ‘C’ match at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy BKC in Mumbai.
Indrajith (105 batting) and young all-rounder M S Washington Sundar (69) rescued Tamil Nadu from a rather precarious 69 for 4 with a partnership of 157 runs.
Earlier, resuming at the overnight score of 314 for 7,the home side added 60 to its total with the Akash Parkar (33 not out) and Aditya S Dhumal (13) putting on 35 crucial runs for the 10th wicket.
Experienced all-rounder Abhishek Nayar failed to add to his overnight score of 20, falling to Vijay Shankar to a catch by Murali Vijay.
Vijay Shankar was the most successful Tamil Nadu bowler, finishing with 4 for 52 while the country's premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin had figures of 3 for 78.

Gurkeerat hits ton as Punjab amass 635 runs against Goa
All-rounder Gurkeerat Mann today scored a century to capitalise on the platform laid by captain Jiwanjot Singh and Anmolpreet Singh, as Punjab amassed 635 in their first innings of a Ranji Trophy Group D match against Goa.
Overnight batsmen -- captain Jiwanjot and Anmolpreet -- got out early today but Gurkeerat (114) took the charge from where the two left.
Resuming on 215, Jiwanjot was dismissed for 238 after facing 293 balls that included 30 boundaries and a six, while Anmolpreet added 10 runs to his overnight score before getting out for 161-ball 113, studded with 13 fours and two sixes.
Jiwanjot and Anmolpreet added 260 runs for the third wicket.
Gurkeerat's 114-run innings came off 129 deliveries, with the help 14 fours and two sixes.
He also put on 105-run stand for the sixth wicket with Taruwar Kohli (28).
Shadab Jakati was the pick of the Goan bowlers with figures of five for 165.
At stumps on Day 2, Goa were at 94 for one with captain Sagun Kamat batting on 32 and Swapnil Asnodkar unbeaten on 28.
