Kumble joins Coke team

Coca Cola India added one more cricket star to its marketing initiative today by signing up ace Indian leg-spinner Anil Kumble.

Vice president and chief operating officer in the company's Northern India Bottling System Prakash Wakankar said, "We are proud to have forged an alliance with one of India's most talented cricketers. We believe in connecting with our consumers and cricket is a critical part of our marketing strategy, which focuses on four passions of our consumers -- movies, sports, music and food. We welcomed Anil Kumble to the Coca Cola team".

Expressing happiness over the agreement, the former Indian vice captain said "I am pleased to be associated with Coca Cola India. Their products, like cricket, are universal favourites the world over," he added.

Coca Cola india had already signed with stylish left hander Sourav Ganguly and leading speedster Javagal Srinath.

Wakankar said, "Anil will play an integral part in our marketing initiatives and together, we will forge closer bonds with his fans as well as our consumers".
