India take on Lanka in Champions' Trophy opener

India will meet Sri Lanka in the opening match of the three-nation Champions Trophy tournament to be played at Sharjah from November 6 to 13, the organisers said.

The tournament, organised by the Sharjah-based Cricketers Benefit Fund Series (CBFS), was earlier scheduled from November 7 to 15.

Zimbabwe is the third team in the tournament, in which all the seven matches will be day-night affairs.

The three teams will play each other twice in a league, before the top two sides clash in the final on November 13.

The schedule reads as follows:

November 6: India vs Sri Lanka

November 7: Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe

November 8: India vs Zimbabwe

November 9: India vs Sri Lanka

November 10: Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe

November 11: India versus Zimbabwe

November 12: Rest day

November 13: Final

Hours of play: (GMT) 1030 to 1400 first session; 1400 to 1445 dinner break; 1445 to 1815 second session.
