India Seniors beat India B by six wickets

India Seniors today defeated India B by six wickets to clinch their second successive win in the Challenger series in Ahmedabad.

Chasing India B's 274/8, the Seniors lost only four wickets to reach the target. Their innings was powered by Vinod Kambli's 79 and captain Rahul Dravid's 66 (85balls). VVS Laxman chipped in with a useful 53 (69).

With this victory, the Seniors have now entered the finals, having won both their round robin matches.

Tommorow's match between India A and India B will be a virtual semi-final with the winner to play India Seniors in the finals on Sunday.

Earlier, India 'B', electing to bat after winning the toss, went on a leather hunt from the start. Openers Jai Yadav (26) and Nikhil Haldipur (50) saw them to a flier, before Ajay Jadeja (53 in 54 balls) and India under-19 skipper Mohammad Kaif could consolidate. Kaif's 90 came off 106 balls and included six fours and one six.

Nikhil Chopra was India Seniors' most successful bowler. He picked three wickets for 47 runs. Robin Singh bagged two for 22 runs.
