India Sr beat India 'A' by 84 runs

India Seniors today beat India 'A' by 84 runs in the finals of the Challenger Trophy at Ahmedabad.

Chasing 321 to win, India 'A' could score only 236 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing nine wickets in the process. They got off to a disaster start losing three wickets with a paltry 27 runs on the board.

Skipper Mohd. Azharuddin 58 (63) and S S Sharath 61 (84) were the only batsmen in the side who put up a fight.

For the Seniors Sunil Joshi and Venkatesh Prasad picked up 3 wickets each.
