Sri Lanka in under-19 Cup final

Sri Lanka entered the final of the under-19 cricket World Cup after beating Pakistan by ten runs in the first semi-final at the Galle International Stadium today.

Batting first, the home side recovered from a bad start - thanks to some good batting by opener G I Daniels (58) and middle order batsman Pushpkumara (47) - and then four run-outs to score 219 before being all out in 49.1 overs.

In reply, Pakistan started as badly. And though Hasan Raza (44) and Faisal Iqbal (53) staged a fightback, they could only muster 209 runs from their 50 over before being all out.

Sri Lanka's bowlers Nissanka, Ganegama, Pushpakumara and Lokuarachchi bowled a tidy line and length to finish with two wickets each.

India take on Australia in the other semi-final tomorrow.
