Central, South win

Central Zone and South Zone registered easy victories in the Deodhar Trophy limited-overs cricket tournament today.

At Pune, Central Zone beat North Zone by three wickets, while at Ahmedabad, South Zone got the better of East Zone by eight wickets.

While Central scored their first victory after two defeats in the tournament, North suffered their first loss after two victories.

For South Zone, it was their first victory from two matches, while East lost their first match in two outings.

Fine knocks by Gagan Khoda (71) and D Bundela (45) saw Central, chasing North's 237 for 8 off 50 overs, easily score 241 for 7 in 47.5 overs.

In the other match, J Arun Kumar stole the limelight with an unbeaten 148 as South Zone scored 276 for 2 off 48.5 overs in reply to East's total of 275 for 7 off 50 overs.
