Kale shines for West

An unbeaten 68 off 76 balls by Abhijit Kale guided West Zone to a five-wicket victory over Central Zone in their concluding Deodhar Trophy league match at the Wankhede stadium in Bombay today. West won with 18 balls to spare.

West completed their engagements with four points while Central finished at the bottom with two points.

Kale, the Maharashtra middle-order batsman, hit seven fours and was involved in an unfinished 42-run sixth wicket stand with Amit Dani, who was unbeaten with 12, as West, chasing Central's modest 50-over total of 207 for eight, made 211 for 5 in 47 overs.
