Indian colts beat Pakistan

Abhinav Kumar's timely unbeaten knock of 52 runs enabled India to beat Pakistan by 33 runs in the penultimate league match of the inaugural under-15 Asian cricket one-day championship at Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

It was a psychological boost for the Indians, as both teams had already qualified for the final, slated for Sunday.

India still have one more league match, against Hong Kong, and are favourties to win it and remain unbeaten.

Pakistan put India in and had them struggling at 79 for five before Abhinav and N Choudhary pieced together an invaluable stand of 83 runs. Subhash Dixit chipped in with 25 in a total of 181 for seven off 40 overs.

India tried six bowlers, who all bowled economically and got wickets, as Pakistan replied with 148 for nine.

M Talukdar took two for 16, Irfan Pathan one for 23, N Choudhary one for 26, N Rathod one for 28, P Das one for 20 and S Dixit one for ten.
