Indian colts win ACC titleIndia clinched the inaugural Asian Cricket Council under-15 title, beating Pakistan by 54 runs in the final at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday. Opener Ambati Rayudu, declared the man-of-the-tournament, cracked 70, with ten fours, and put on 116 runs for the second wicket with Sushil Kumar (48, 7x4) to help India, who chose to bat first after winning the toss, amass 209 in 39 overs. The Indian bowlers then restricted the Pakistan to 155 for 9 in the allotted 40 overs to emerge triumphant. Spinners N Rathod (2 for 10) and Naveen Chaudhary (2 for 24) were the chief wicket-takers and were well-supported by medium-pacers Mrigen Choudhary, Panav Raju and Irfan Pathan who picked up a wicket apiece. It was the seventh successive victory for the Indians who had beaten Pakistan earlier in the round-robin match of the seven-team event. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Thailand, Hong Kong and hosts Malaysia were the other competing teams. The Indians won individual laurels also as P Das, M Talukdar and Abhinav Kumar were respectively declared the best batsman, bowler and wicket-keeper of the tournament. India are the reigning World under-15 champions and will be defending their crown in the next edition of the tournament, starting from July 30, in England. Brief scores: India 209 in 39 overs (A Rayudu 70, S Kumar 48, P Das 20, M Talukdar 18) beat Pakistan 155 for 9 (M Talukdar 1 for 30, P Raju 1 for 19, Irfan Pathan 1 for 16, N Rathod 2 for 10, N Chaudhary 2 for 24).
