Dravid gets first ton
Indian Rahul Dravid scored his first cricket championship century to lead a Kent fightback against Hampshire in their division one basement clash at Portsmouth today. Kent, replying to Hampshire's first-innings score of 320, managed just 252, with India Test star Dravid scoring 137. However, they managed to bowl Hampshire out for a meagre 136 in the second innings and are well placed at 117/1 with Dravid unbeaten on 25. They require an additional 87 runs to win with 9 wickets in hand. The technically accomplished Dravid frustrated Aussie ace Shane Warne but the hosts' leg-spinner, who earlier made 69 runs, still weighed in with 4-81. With two scores above eighty and two above ninety so far, Rahul Dravid was due for a century and will no doubt be relieved that it has finally come.
