Mongia, Aravinda De Silva for Asian XI

Pakistan skipper Moin Khan and fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar have pulled out of the Asian eleven team which will play a World eleven in a one-day cricket match for the CricketNext.com Cup at The Oval on July 29. Injuries are said to the reason for the pull-out.

They will be replaced by Indian wicketkeeper Nayan Mongia and Sri Lankan Aravinda D'Silva in the side to be led by Sachin Tendulkar.

The World eleven will be led by England's Alec Stewart.

Australian batsman Michael Slater too has pulled out of the World eleven team and will be replaced by wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist.

The teams:

Asian XI: Sachin Tendulkar (capt), Ajay Jadeja, Mohammad Azharuddin, Anil Kumble, Venkatesh Prasad, Robin Singh, Nayan Mongia (wicketkeeper) and Javagal Srinath (all India), Saeed Anwar, Wasim Akram and Saqlain Mushtaq (all Pakistan) and Arvinda D'Silva (Sri Lanka).

World XI: Alec Stewart (capt), Naseer Hussain, Alan Mullaly and Graham Thorpe (all England), Chris Cairns and Nathan Astle (both New Zealand), Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist (wicketkeeper) and Mark Waugh (all Australia), Heath Streak and Neil Johnson (both Zimbabwe) and Courtney Walsh (West Indies).
