England win World junior squashEngland won the 11th World junior boys' squash championship, beating Egypt 2-1 in a three-hour, 38 minutes final in Milan on Sunday. Pakistan did well to finish third after they pipped France 2-1, while Spain beat Malaysia by the same margin to take fifth place. India lost 0-3 to Zimbabwe to finish a poor 16th among the 31 countries that participated in the tournament. England's Darryl Selby beat Akram Youssif 9-6, 3-9, 10-8, 9-0 in a 63-minute match to give his team a 1-0 lead. However, World junior champion Karim Darwish put Egypt level when he pipped James Willstrop 8-10, 9-2, 8-10, 10-8, 9-2 in a marathon 79-minute duel after saving five match balls. Philip Baker then rallied magnificently, after dropping the first two games, top pip Mohamoud Abdel Kader 5-9, 2-9, 9-2, 9-5, 9-2 in 76 minutes and help England retain the title. The Indians' performance was pathetic. Junaid Nathani went down without a fight to Zimbabwe's Samson Muhwati 7-9, 2-9, 0-9 in 22 minutes before Jesse Englbrecht made it 2-0 with an hard-fought 6-9, 9-6, 10-9, 6-9, 9-4 victory over Bikram Uberoi in 58 minutes. Mark Tavener clinched the dead rubber with a 9-2, 9-1, 9-0 win over Mihir Kapoor in 23 minutes. Pakistan did well to finish third when they pipped France 2-1 while Spain beat Malaysia with the same margin to finish fifth. Results (final): England beat Egypt 2-1 (Darryl Selby bt Akram Youssif 9-6, 3-9, 10-8, 9-0, James Willstrop lost to Karim Darwish 10-8, 2-9, 10-8, 8-10, 2-9, Philip Baker bt Mahmoud Abdel Kader 5-9, 2-9, 9-2, 9-5, 9-2).
