India to skip Singapore seriesRediff team Owing to the ongoing investigations into the match-fixing scandal, India will not participate in the one-day series held in Singapore this year. This was confirmed by the BCCI honorary secretary Jaywant Lele, who stated that in the light of the investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the board had decided to skip the series involving India, South Africa and New Zealand. Pakistan will replace India in the tournament to be played from August 20-27. Lele, however, said India would play in the annual Sahara Cup one-day series against Pakistan in Toronto in September, pending clearance from the government. The Indians withdrew from last year's Sahara Cup against Pakistan and played a three-match series against the West Indies in the aftermath of the Kargil incursions. Kapil Dev, Mohammad Azharuddin and Ajay Jadeja are expected to testify before the CBI. In October, the Indians will take part in the Sharjah Cup and the mini-World Cup in Kenya. India will host Zimbabwe for three Tests and five one-dayers in November-December, followed by a month-long tour of Pakistan when they will play two Tests and unspecified number of one-dayers. Australia will undertake a Test tour of India in February-March, after which the Indians will once again play a tournament in Sharjah in April.
