Notts seek SrinathFaisal Shariff India pace spearhead Javagal Srinath dismissed reports that he has signed to play for Nottinghamshire in the English County league this season. In a telephone conversation with rediff.com, he said the county only faxed him an offer this evening, and it is silly to jump to any conclusions. "I am considering the offer and will decide in two days' time. I need to talk to people before I arrive at any decision," Srinath said. Srinath, who had earlier played for Gloucestershire in 1995 when he claimed 87 victims, had opted out of the Asia Cup complaining of fatigue. However, after a lay-off of almost two-and-a-half months, during which he had a light training schedule, it appears the Karnataka bowler is ready for competitive cricket again. Nottingham are seeking a replacement for the 'Rawalpindi Express', Shoaib Akhtar, who was rendered out of action following a rib injury.
