It's a hundred for Lord's

The second Test between England and the West Indies, which began on Thursday, 29 June 2000, is the 100th Test match at Lord's cricket ground in London, since the first began on 21 July 1884 - 116 years ago! Lord's is the first venue to reach the landmark in Test history.

Incidentally, it will be England's 99th Test at this venue, since one Test match between Australia and South Africa was also played here during the 1912 triangular Test series.

Just for the record, the other venues that have hosted maximum Test matches after Lord's are: the Melbourne Cricket Ground: 92 matches; the Sydney Cricket Ground: 86 matches, and The Kennington Oval, London: 82 matches.
