JCT Phagwara held defending champions Kingfisher East Bengal to a goalless draw in a National Football League match at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana on Tuesday.

Both teams missed several opportunities to score although East Bengal did dominate the hosts at the fag end of the match.

JCT too were guilty of missing several chances, the first of which came in the 26th minute, when Charanjit failed to convert an excellent pass from the veteran I M Vijayan.

Charanjit missed a golden chance again after ten minutes, this time being beaten by the goalkeeper.

The second half was also non-productive, though East Bengal, who have only two points from three matches played so far, dominated the show.

They displayed their class in the last ten minutes with Subhash Chakraborty and Mike Okoro making some excellent moves.

JCT now take on Salgaocar, Goa, at the same venue on December 14.
