India's junior football team will rub shoulders with the leading clubs of the world when they take part in Europe's premier football tournament -- the Milk Cup -- to be held in Northern Ireland from July 19 to 25.
The All India Football Federation has named an 18-member team, which will leave for the United Kingdom from Goa on Sunday.
This is the first time that an Indian under-18 team is participating in such a prestigious international tournament where the junior teams of leading clubs of the world including Manchester United, Bayern Munich and River Plate will also be in the fray.
India, led by Moirangthem G Singh of Tata Football Academy, has been grouped with Dynamo Kiev of Russia, Preston North End (England) and Co Antrim of Northern Ireland.
After completing their engagements in Northern Ireland, the team will proceed to Wales for another international tournament before returning to India on August 3.
