Indian juniors Sanaa Bhambri and Sania Mirza stormed into the quarter-finals of the girls' doubles at the French Open on Tuesday.
They defeated Mari Andersson of Sweden and Megan Falcon of the United States 6-1, 6-3 in a second round match.
On Monday, the Indian pair had defeated the French pair of Virginie Ayassamy and Laura Thorpe 6-2, 6-1 in a first round match.
They play Kateryna Bondarenko of Ukraine and Heidi El-Tabakh of Egypt in the quarter-finals. Kateryna-Heidi upset top seeds Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium and Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 in their second round match.
Sania is currently ranked 13th in the doubles while Sanna is ranked 63rd. In April this year, the duo won the Grade 1 doubles title at the Shuzo Challenge Japan Open Junior Championships.
