India TFA White missed several chances yet easily beat Bangladesh 3-0 in their opening league match in the under-19 JRD Tata Cup international football tournament in Jamshedpur on Saturday.
The Indian side, led by striker Gourmangi Singh, were ahead 2-0 at the breather with goals from Vanlal Rova and Gurjinder Singh. Crossing over, they added another goal to their tally when Malswama found the target.
Rova drew first blood, chipping the ball into the net following a throw-in from defender H R Mondal.
The Indians maintained the pressure and increased the margin within three minutes when defender Gurjinder Singh converted a penalty.
Nepal referee Surendra Sikhrakar awarded the set piece after Bangla custodian Khaled Mohammad Azam roughly tackled forward Marlanki Suiting as he sped dangerously towards the Bangla goal.
After the lemon break, the Indian side intensifeid the pressure as the visitors miserably failed in the midfield and found themselves caught in a web of mispasses.
The third goal came in the 52nd mintue when medio Malswama essayed a stiff shot towards the Bangla goal from close. The ball went in after deflecting off Bangladesh stopper Shaik Shamimur Rahaman, who attempted to clear.
Marlanki failed to capitalise on a close scoring opportunity in the 20th minute when his full blooded shot off a measured pass went wide.
An unrelenting TFA White again raided the opponent's camp, and Rova dribbled past a rival defender and goalkeeper but a Bangladesh player rushed in to clear the ball.
For Bangladesh, this was their second consecutive defeat after losing to India TFA Blue 1-2 in the tournament lung opener on Thursday.
