Striker David Trezeguet and midfielder Alou Diarra have pulled out of France's World Cup qualifiers next month because of injury, a French federation spokesman said on Monday.
Trezeguet and Diarra will miss Saturday's match against Israel in Paris and the game against the Faroe Islands in Torshawn fours days later, he added.
No details of their injuries were given.
Manchester United's Louis Saha and AC Milan's Vikash Dhorasoo will replace Trezeguet and Diara.
The call-up of 30-year-old Dhorasoo is something of a surprise as the former Olympique Lyon midfielder has not played for his country in almost four years.
Dhorasso has earned only two caps with Les Bleus.
Saha was part of the France squad that was eliminated by Greece in the quarter-finals of the Euro 2004.
