The body of Brazilian striker Cristiano Junior was flown to Goa on Monday morning.
Junior died after scoring the second goal for his Goan Club Dempo in the final of the Federation Cup Football Championship against Mohun Bagan at Bangalore on Sunday. He scored both the goals as Dempo went to win the match 2-0.
Meanwhile, post-mortem has been conducted at the state-run Victorial Hospital but sources said it would take a few days to get the report, which would throw light on the cause of his death.
Junior's mortal remains were flown in an Indian Airlines flight. His wife is in Goa.
The body was accompanied by Dempo's Coach Armando Colaco and his deputy Maurico Afonso.
All India Football Federation Secretary Alberto Colaco said AIFF would announce an ex-gratia for Junior's family.
Colaco is slated to hold discussions with local organisers and football officials regarding the tragedy, which has sent shock waves across the football fraternity.
