Porto coach Jose Mourinho gave up the chance to parade the European Cup around the Arena AufSchalke pitch on Wednesday to spend time with his family.
Mourinho, poised to quit Porto for a job in England now the season is over, left the pitch almost immediately after his side's outstanding 3-0 win over Monaco in the Champions League final.
"Something strange happened," Mourinho said. "My wife and children were behind the bench when the match finished.
"With all respect to the players and the Cup, being with my family was more important.
"I still have time to be with the players and take pictures but that moment was a fantastic feeling."
Deco Souza, who scored Porto's second goal and was named man of the match, also had his family, or future family, on his mind.
"I always share a room with Derlei Silva and we always said we would share this moment with our grand-children," he said. "We'll probably tell them some lies."
