Taking full advantage of State Bank of Travancore's weak defence and toothless attack, JCT earned full points by carving out a 2-1 victory in the league match of the ninth National Football League in Kozhikode on Saturday.

The Bankmen failed to capitalise after seizing the initiative by scoring the first goal through N P Pradeep who neatly converted a Kabeer pass in the 18th minute.

However, JCT brought the equaliser in the 42nd minute when Nigerian Alexander Jebba netted the goal.

In the second half, JCT's Harvinder Singh scored in the 60th minute through a penalty kick to give the all-important lead that went on to ensure victory for the visitors.

For his excellent soccer throughout the match, JCT's Julius Akpele was named the man of the match.

With only nine points from 13 outings, SBT now faces the threat of getting relegated from the League, while JCT further improved their position by moving up to 18 points.
