East Bengal win crucial match

Front-runners East Bengal scored a crucial 3-1 victory over archrivals Mohun Bagan in the 10th ONGC National Football League at the floodlit Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday.

All the goals came in the second half of the match.

Bhaichung Bhutia put East Bengal ahead in the 48th minute. Shylo Malswan (61st) and Gauranga Dutta (88th) scored the other two goals for the winners.

Mehtab Hussain reduced the margin for Bagan in the 73rd minute.
