Leander Paes and Martin Damm qualified for the semi-finals of the Masters Cup after Australia's Paul Hanley and Zimbabwe's Kevin Ullyett came from behind to beat Mike and Bob Bryan in Shanghai on Thursday.

Hanley-Ullyett, who won all their league encounters, topped the Red Group with 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 triumph over the top-seeded American pair. The Indo-Czech duo, meanwhile, edged out the Bryan brothers on better set record (4-4 to 4-5) to finish second.

The sixth seeds put behind the disappointment of the first two matches and overcame a stubborn challenge from Israel's Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich to beat them 6-4, 7-6(6) in an hour and 46 minutes.

Paes-Damm had gone down 6-7(6), 6-4, 3-6 to Hanley and Ullyett in their first match . In the second, the Bryans quelled a late challenge from the US Open champions to win 6-2, 6-7(4), 7-6(5) after two hours and 25 minutes.
