Sporting Clube de Goa rallied from a goal in arrears to hold Air India to a 1-1 draw in a 11th National Football League match, at the Nehru stadium, in Margao, Goa, on Sunday.

Air India forged ahead in the seventh minute through Samson Singh, who took advantage of a defensive lapse.

Striker Bashiru Abbas, accepting a pass from a throw-in, sent a deep cross which caught the rival defense napping and Samson Singh, who was unmarked, headed home from close.

Sporting Clube de Goa, who had more of the exchanges and scoring chances, restored parity in the 40th minute through Dudu Omagbhemi.

Sporting Clube de Goa, who controlled the proceedings for a major part of the match, were not given space by the rival defense to operate and attempted long-rangers even as Dudu's and Jeremiah's shots missed the target.

With today's draw, both the teams took their tally to 14 points.

Air India's Paresh Shivalkar was named man of the match award.
