Owen nets winner at St. James's Park
Michael Owen, who scored his first goal for Newcastle United for 20 months in the League Cup win over Barnsley on Wednesday, scored the winner against Wigan after 87 minutes. The visitors also had Kevin Kilbane sent off in the first minute of the second half.
Owen dashed between two defenders to pounce three minutes from time to head past Chris Kirkland, sending the home fans into raptures.

Craig Bellamy, who scored twice for West Ham against Bristol Rovers in the League Cup on Tuesday, scored his first league goal for his new club finishing off a good build-up after six minutes.
Matthew Etherington doubled the score after 49 minutes when he broke into space and fired past Marcus Hahnemann in the Reading goal and he added his second in the closing minutes.
Reading missed a second half penalty and have now lost three of their five league games so far.
Fulham earn late draw against Spurs
Fulham fought back 2-0 and 3-1 down to force a draw after Spurs had dominated throughout.
Young French centre-back Younes Kaboul scored his first goal for Spurs after 10 minutes and Spurs doubled their lead in the 28th minute when Dimitar Berbatov smashed home his first goal of the season.
Clint Dempsey headed Fulham's first after 42 minutes and although Gareth Bale scored his first goal for Spurs after 61 minutes, Fulham levelled with late goals from Alexi Smertin and Diomansay Kamara.
