Vivek Shokeen wasted two match points as he crashed out of the $ 15000 ITF Futures tournament while Navdeep Singh stretched his run to the quarterfinals at DLTA Complex in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Curtains also came down on Karan Rastogi's campaign after he lost his second round match 6-3, 3-6, 1-6 to Kazakhstan's Alexey Kedryuk.

While Shokeen lost 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (5) to second seed Alexander Satschko from Germany, Navdeep got the better of compatriot Divij Sharan 6-4, 7-5 in the second round match.

Another Indian in the fray, Vinod Sridhar bowed out after losing 6-4, 3-6, 2-6 to strong Chinese player Peng Sun.

Shokeen had every chance to pocket the match after he notched up two match points on his opponent's serve in the 10th game of the third set but lost his rhythm after picking up a thumb injury.

The match stretched to tie-break, where the German player proved stronger and negotiated the long rallies better.

Shokeen had difficulty in setting points throughout in rallies, though he impressed with his solid ground stokes and agility on the court.

Shokeen earned break points in the first two sets through his aggressive game and won some laudable points by coming on the net.

The game's intensity was matched by the two players' temper which kept flaring up on contentious line calls forcing the match-referee to replace an erring linesman.
