It was a bad day for Harsh Mankad, the only Indian in the semi-finals of the India F3 Men's ITF Tennis Tournament, as he went down to fourth seed Nathan Thompson of the United States 2-6, 4-6 on Saturday.

Mankad looked totally out of form as the match was dominated by Thompson, who first broke the Indian wild card's serve in the third game and later in the eighth game to take the first set.

Mankad tried hard to come back but could not due to his poor serve and several unforced errors.

Thompson was quick to seize the opportunity and did not take long to wrap the match 6-2, 6-4.

After the match Mankad said, "Playing too much tennis over the past week took a toll on me. Unfortunately, things did not go my way this time."

In the other semi-final, qualifier Ryan Young overcame Hyun-Woo Nam of Korea 6-4, 6-2 and will meet countryman Thompson in the Saturday's final.

Mankad also suffered defeat in the doubles finals partnering Ranjeet Murugesan. The pair went down to fourth seed Rohan Gajjar and Purav Raja 6-3, 6-1.

Results (Singles semi-final): (4) Nathan Thompson (USA) bt Harsh Mankad 6-2, 6-4; Ryan Young (USA) bt (2) Hyun-Woo Nam (Kor) 6-4, 6-2.

Doubles final): (4) Rohan Gajjar/Purav Raja bt Harsh Mankad/Ranjeet Murugesan 6-3, 6-1.
