Arjun Atwal raised his game just in time and brought home a second round card of one-under 71 to make the cut in the $ 625,000 South Georgia Classic golf tournament in Valdosta.
Atwal's 36-hole total of one-over 145 has him tied 55th after the halfway stage of the Nationwide Tour event.
After a poor opening day card of 74, Atwal needed a solid second round and the Indian survived a scare in the form of a double bogey on the 16th hole before managing to hang around for weekend action at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
Atwal birdied the second, fourth and 13th holes to go three-under before dropping two shots on the 16th, but for which the Indian could have finished higher up the leaderboard.
Bryan DeCorso (137) fired three-under 69 to open up a two-shot lead over the Marco Dawson (68) and David Miller (70) duo.
