A strange selection of goods -- which are actually a reflection of the limited produce of these islands -- are hawked at the covered market in the old bazaar area. Plantains, local vegetables, yams, sweets, nuts, coconuts, breadfruit chips, bottles of jams and pickles and giant clusters of bananas, hanging on coir ropes from
the roof, are available. Next door is the fish market where giant tuna and and such like are laid out on the floor for sale.
