I pinched myself. I was not asleep. The Maldives, I discovered, were a few sun-dappled isles of paradise. Located southwest of Sri Lanka, the 1,190 odd islands stretch across a distance of 750 km over the equator and are part of a family of coral atolls. The coral reefs, that colour the water a glorious turquoise, are home to exotic-looking fish, lethal manta rays and dolphins.
