On Saturday, a working committee for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) placed a ceiling on player endorsements, imposing a limit of three sponsorship deals per individual as well as restricting single sponsors to a maximum of two players.
"The players shall take prior approval of the board before signing any endorsement contract and will submit a copy of the agreement to the board," treasurer N. Srinivasan told reporters.
"Let me clarify that there is no conflict between the players and the BCCI," Dravid said in a statement on Monday.
"The interests of the players and the BCCI are inclusive and not exclusive."
The clampdown on endorsements has led to further speculation in local media that corporate interest influenced selection procedures for the World Cup. Touted favourites back home, the team were knocked out in the first round.
