The start of the World Cup final between holders Australia and Sri Lanka on Saturday was delayed after heavy rain hit the Kensington Oval stadium in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Both teams presented their provisional team line-ups, with no late surprises, although they have a chance to change the teams until the toss is made.

Australia, seeking their third consecutive world title, included seam bowler Glenn McGrath for the last time before he retires from the game.

Sri Lanka pace bowler Dilhara Fernando kept his place ahead of Farveez Maharoof despite his poor display in the semi-final win over New Zealand.

West Indian umpire Steve Bucknor will be taking charge of his fifth successive World Cup final.
