RCB buy Yuvraj for 14 crore, Karthik gets 12.5 cr

So that is the end of the first session as we break for lunch. The Auction will resume at 2pm with the second set of specialist batsmen up for grabs.

Yuvraj Singh has bagged the highest price of the 2014 IPL Auction with a huge price tag of Rs. 14 crore which Royal Challengers Bangalore paid for him.

Dinesh Karthik was a surprise pick at 12.5 cr when he was bought by Delhi Daredevils, who also snapped up Kevin Pietersen for 9 cr.

Mitchell Johnson was also another high profile player to get a good price with Kings XI Punjab bagging him for 6.5 cr.

Jacques Kallis was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders using the Right to Match option for 5.5 cr and Sunrisers Hyderabad got David Warner for the same price.

Robin Uthappa (KKR) and Mitchell Starc (RCB) were the other two players who went for the 5 crore mark.
