Yuvraj fetches the highest price in Round 1

Yuvraj Singh commanded the highest price in the opening round of the IPL Auction as Royal Challengers Bangalore paid a whopping Rs. 14 crore for him.

But his former India team mate Virender Sehwag went for 3.20 crore to Kings XI Punjab as Delhi Daredevils opted not to retain him.

The second highest bid went to Kevin Pietersen who was retained by Delhi Daredevils using the RTM option after Sunrisers Hyderabad had made the highest bid of Rs. 9 crore.

Delhi Daredevils also bought India Test opener Murali Vijay for Rs. 5 crore but decided not to retain David Warner, who was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for 5.5 crore.

Kings XI Punjab made a big bid of 6.5 crore for Australia's Ashes bowling hero Mitchell Johnson as Mumbai opted not to exercise the RTM option.

Kolkata Knight Riders used the right to match option to get back Jacques Kallis for 5.5 crore.

Sri Lankan batting icon Mahela Jayawardene surprisingly went unsold.
