Chennai 134-6 (20 ovs) vs Kolkata | Scorecard

Du Plessis makes room but Hogg operating from round the wicket bowls it wide and the right-hander can only get a single and Jadeja takes one from the next ball.

Du Plessis is beaten by one as he has a wild swing before he takes one down the ground.

Jadeja comes down the wicket but is beaten all ends up and is bowled after a poor innings of 15 from 20 balls.

The last ball is outside the off-stump and turns away as new batsman Ravichandran Ashwin plays down the wrong line and is beaten.

Superb bowling from the old man in his first match in IPL as he finishes with excellent figures of one for 18 in four overs.

Yadav to bowl the final over of the innings. The first ball is short but a bit slower as du Plessis is early into the pull and is struck on the chest as he immediately backs off and is clearly in some pain.

The next ball is again slower as du Plessis misses the fine scoop on the leg side before he takes a single.

Ashwin flicks the fourth ball square on the leg side for a four before he nudges the next ball, a full toss on the pads, fine on the leg side for another boundary.

But he gets only a single from the last ball as Chennai finish on 134 for six in their 20 overs.

Du Plessis was not able to get going in the final few overs and finished on 29 from as many balls, while Ashwin hit nine from four balls.

The wicket was a bit slow and also offered some turn to the spinners as Chennai's batsmen never really got the measure of the wicket. Infact, they struggled in the death overs, scoring 35 runs from the last five while losing one wicket.

Kolkata would be happy that Hogg made an impact straightaway in his first match of the tournament, while Cummins and Russell troubled the CSK batsmen with their extra pace.
