Mohit ends the match as Sohail is caught by Yadav for seven on the leg side as Pakistan fold for 224 in 47 overs.

India win by a convincing margin of 76 runs to continue their unbeaten run against Pakistan in World Cups.

A superb bowling effort from the Indians, especially the pacers as they claimed eight wickets amongst themselves.

Shami shone with wonderful figures of four for 33 in nine overs, while Yadav and Mohit picked two wickets each.

Ashwin was India's best bowler of the day as he took one for 41 in eight overs including three maidens, while Jadeja claimed one for 56.

This is India's sixth victory against Pakistan in World Cups with previous victories coming in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003 and 2011.

Kohli is named man of the match for his wonderful innings of 107 from 126 balls, which helped India post a huge total batting first.

India's short ball policy finally works against Misbah as he mishits the pull on the leg side where Rahane completes an easy catch.

The Pakistan captain walks back after scoring 76 from 84 balls as India stand just a wicket away from another victory against Pakistan at World Cups.

Mohammed Irfan is greeted by two bouncers as he leaves it alone to give Shami a wicket-maiden. The pacer has taken of four for 35 in nine overs.

Misbah decides to target Jadeja as he lofts him over midwicket for a four followed by two consecutive boundaries behind square using the sweep shot to good effect to take his score to 76.

Sohail Khan, who took five wickets with the ball, needs to stay with his captain Misbah, who looks good to complete his first century in ODIs.

Yadav comes back as he tries a short ball at Sohail but he ducks under. The next ball is however pulled confidently through midwicket for a four. He continues to barrage of bouncers as Sohail is happy to let it go to get five from the over.

Yadav bowls a menacing bouncer to Yasir, who somehow fends it off for a single to fine leg. Another good over from Yadav, which goes for just two runs.

Yasir slog sweeps Ashwin through midwicket for a four to bring up Pakistan's 200, in the 42nd over. But he is unable to get a run from the rest of the over as Ashwin sends down another good over.

Misbah also gets his name in the wickets column as Yasir holes out a simple catch to Yadav at mid-on for 13.

Jadeja bowling it full and flat to Misbah, who manages a single from the third ball before Yasir Shah takes two runs through the thirdman region for just three runs from the over.

With the Batting Powerplay done with and the field well spread now, the boundaries have again dried up.

Yadav, who replaces Shami, makes a good comeback as he concedes just four runs in his eighth over.

Misbah improvises as he reverse sweeps Jadeja behind point for a four. He then takes a single before Yasir gets one from the fifth ball.

Misbah has a huge wild swing off the last ball but is beaten and the ball passes very close to the stumps.

After 40 overs, Pakistan are 194 for seven, with 107 needed from 10 overs for victory.

Ashwin comes back and Misbah greets him by slog sweeping over midwicket for a six. He takes two runs from the third ball before he cuts the last ball past point for a four to get 15 runs from the over.

Misbah on the attack as he lofts Shami over mid-off for a four before he gets two runs from the next ball to bring up his fifty, from 55 balls.

He then crashes a full toss through midwicket for a four as 12 come from the over to Pakistan to 181 for seven in 37 overs, having scored 44 runs for two wickets in the five overs of Powerplay.

Mohit continues to be miserly with the ball as he gives away just two singles in his seventh over and Jadeja concedes three singles in his next over.

Pakistan are struggling on 137 for five in 32 overs before they take the Batting Powerplay, perhaps hoping to go after the Indian bowlers and somehow inch their way back in the contest.

Shami comes back as India bring back a fast bowler to bowl in the Powerplay. Afridi gets a single from the first ball as he misses the flick on the leg side to one pitched on the pads. Misbah struggles and gets only a single from the final ball to get just two runs from the over.

Misbah makes room before he drives a full delivery from Yadav through the covers for a four. Two balls later, he flicks another over pitched delivery square on the leg side for the same result.

Two more singles make it 14 runs from the over as Pakistan look to force the issue.

Shami is lucky to be gifted as Afridi miscues a full toss on the off-side as Kohli runs back and holds on to a tough chance.

Afridi walks back for 22 from as many balls as Pakistan are reduced to 149 for six in the 35th over.

Wahab Riaz gets off the mark with a four down the leg side but is dismissed off the next ball as Dhoni completes a sharp catch.

The match seems to completely in India's grasp at the moment with Pakistan needing 147 from 15 overs for victory. The task may even be out of reach for captain Misbah, who is batting on 31 from 48 balls.

Ashwin bowls another maiden over, his third in five overs, as Misbah is content to play it cautiously against India's No. 1 spinner.

Mohit comes back to replace Jadeja, who has taken one for 32 in six overs.

Afridi turns Ashwin on the leg side for one before Misbah flicks the third ball fine for a couple and then picks a single.

Afridi then sweeps it powerfully square on the leg side for a boundary.

Pakistan have reached 132 for five in 30 overs, needing 169 from the last 20 at 8.45 per over.

Surprising decision by the TV umpire to overturn the on field umpire's decision as the Snickometer registered nothing but you can see a bit of deflection as the ball passes the bat but nothing convincing. Lucky wicket for India!

Jadeja looking to rush through his overs as he gives away just a single from four deliveries. Shehzad then hits it through the covers for two runs before he gets another couple through thirdman as the fielder inside the circle half stops it for another two runs.

Dhoni makes a change as Ashwin gets a break after going for runs in his previous over and he is replaced by Yadav, who bowled a poor spell with the new ball.

He continues to pile on the pressure conceding just a single with Shehzad playing five straight dots.

Jadeja doing his role to perfection as he concedes three runs in his fourth over as Pakistan reach 101 for two in 23 overs.

The pressure finally pays off as Shehzad looks to break free but ends up hitting Yadav straight into the hands of Jadeja at point, who takes it on the second attempt.

Shehzad is dismissed for 47 from 73 balls as Pakistan are reduced to 102 for three in the 24th over.

New batsman Sohaib Maqsood last just two deliveries before he is caught at first slip for a duck as Pakistan slip further.

Shehzad steers Jadeja behind point for two runs before he survives a run out chance from the final delivery of the over as he has to dive to complete the second run.

Misbah-ul-Haq attempts to sweep Ashwin off the first ball he faces but fails to make connection before he drives it to long-on for one. Ashwin finally bowls a loose delivery as Shehzad rocks back and thumps a short delivery through point for a four. He then comes down the track and lofts it over mid-on for another boundary.

After 20 overs, Pakistan are 92 for two, with another 209 runs needed from 30 overs for victory at an asking rate of 6.96.

Shehzad has recovered well after a slow start to score 42 from 61 balls, while Misbah is on one.

Ashwin's second over is easily milked for five singles by the two batsmen following which the two teams take a drinks break.

We will have spin from both ends now as Ravindra Jadeja comes into the attack. Sohail punches a short ball through the covers for three runs to get seven runs from the over.

Ashwin bowls a tight over to Sohail, who ends up edging the last ball to Raina at first slip to fall for 36.

A wicket maiden for Ashwin, who has superb figures of one for five in three overs including two maidens.

Shehzad comes down the track and heaves Mohit over midwicket for a four to break the shackles. He takes a single from the last ball to retain strike.

Raina is taken off after just one work and he makes way for regular off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He starts with a maiden over as Shehzad struggles to get the runs and even rotating the strike is proving to be difficult.

Shehzad looking to break free as he clobbers a slower ball from Mohit over mid-off for a four before he lofts the last ball but fails to make proper connection for two runs.

After 15 overs Pakistan are 67 for one, needing 234 runs from 35 overs for victory at an asking rate of 6.68. Sohail is batting fluently on 28 from 36 balls, while Shehzad has struggled to rotate the strike for 26 from 45 balls.

Part-timer Suresh Raina comes into the attack. This could be the ideal opportunity for Pakistan to break the shackles and get the momentum back.

A short wide delivery is punched by Shehzad through the covers for two runs and he repeats the shot off the next delivery for the same result to get six runs from the over.

Shami bowling a lot of bouncers as Shehzad ducks under another quick short ball but he pulls the next one with a great deal of conviction through midwicket for a four.

Shami loses his radar as he bowls a wide outside the off-stump as the scoreboard keeps rattling along for Pakistan, who reach 44 for one in eight overs.

Raina makes a good stop on the off-side as Sohail plays a good drive before he takes a single on the leg side. Shehzad is beaten off the last ball as Mohit gets some movement to end a good over which goes for just one.

A few tight overs as India build up the pressure as Pakistan reach 46 for one in 10 overs with just 12 coming from the last four overs.

Shehzad has struggled to get going to score 10 from 23 balls, while Sohail has stroked 23 from 28 balls.

Sohail looking in good touch as he drives Shami through the off-side for a couple before he ducks under a high bouncer which is called a wide. Shami then beats the left-hander with one that moves away as he comes half forward to defend.

Shami bowling some quick bouncers going high over Sohail and is called a wide for height again.

Mohit Sharma comes into the attack after three overs for 23 runs from Yadav in his first spell. He oversteps while bowling the second ball to gift away free hit which Sohail lofts over mid-on but fails to make proper connection for two runs and gets two more from the last ball through the covers.

Shami has been quite sharp in his first over. And he continues to bowl with good energy. A quick bouncer accounts for Younis, who is totally out of position as he first tries to duck and then looks to pull but in the end gloves it to be caught on the leg side by Dhoni for six.

Haris Sohail is the No. 3 batsman and he gets off the mark with two runs before he defends the rest of the over.

Sohail steers a wide delivery from Yadav behind point and gets a four with the thirdman fielder placed square. The left-hander flicks the fifth ball through midwicket for another boundary before he crashes the last one through the covers for the third four of the over to get 14 runs from the over and take Pakistan to 28 for one in five overs.

Mohammed Shami to bowl the second over. The first ball is a bit short as it hits Shehzad on the body before he gets the next to thirdman after initially deciding to leave it. Shami looks charged up and is bowling at a quick pace as Younis is forced to defend before he takes a single from the last ball to retain strike.

Younis gets Pakistan's first boundary as he flicks a full delivery from Yadav through midwicket in some style. He edges the next ball which goes past the slips to thirdman for a single.

Shehzad then slaps a wide delivery through point but is unable to beat Jadeja at point. The fifth ball is on the pads which Shehzad gets on the leg side for a couple to get seven from the over.

Umesh Yadav makes a horror start, bowling a big short wide down the leg side to Shehzad, who easily ducks under it. He takes a single from the third ball before Younis is beaten outside the off-stump as Yadav gets one to move away enough. The veteran opener defends the last ball as just two runs come from it.

We are back for the second half of the match with Pakistan chasing a huge 301 for victory. And this is just a dream pitch for the batsmen and with India's bowlers struggling in the last few months, this could be their best opportunity to chase down this total.

Veteran Younis Khan has been promoted to open the innings along with Ahmed Shehzad with Umesh Yadav set to bowl the first over.

Kohli was instrumental in India's good show in the middle overs as he played a superb innings of 107, while Raina slammed a quickfire 74 from 56 balls. The duo put on a rampaging stand of 110 runs from 15.3 overs to take the match before Pakistan staged a great comeback with the ball in the final few overs.

It remains to be seen if India's bowlers can restrict the Pakistanis on a flat wicket, loaded with plenty of runs!

Dhoni falls to the first delivery of the final over, top edging the pull and is caught at mid-off after scoring 18 from 13 balls.

Sohail Khan gets his fifth wicket as Ajinkya Rahane is beaten by the slower ball and is bowled off the very first delivery.

Three wickets in three balls for Pakistan and Sohail himself is on a hat-trick now.

Mohammed Shami is lucky to survive as a yorker is a touch wide of the stumps and he then edges a full toss to thirdman for one.

Ravi Ashwin picks a single on the leg side before Shami makes room and lofts it over point for two runs to bring up India's 300 off the final delivery.

India lost four wickets for 17 in the last three overs to lose the plot in the final few overs and ended up scoring 20-25 runs less than what they should have posted.

Sohail Khan led Pakistan's revival with five for 55 in 10 overs, while Riaz also did well towards the end to take one for 49.

Ravindra Jadeja attempts suicide as he drives it to the covers and sets off for a single to bring Dhoni back on strike. Infact, Pakistan have two attempts at the stumps but are unable to get a direct hit as Jadeja survives.

Dhoni can get only a single on the off-side and Jadeja does the same.  Good bowling by Riaz on Dhoni's body, who is cramped for room and take just a single.

Riaz then beats Jadeja outside the off-stump with another quick delivery before he crashes his stump with the next ball, foxing the left-hander with the slower ball.

Excellent stuff from Riaz as he concedes just four runs in the 49th over to finish with one for 49 in 10 overs.

Riaz comes back as Irfan is taking off after going for runs in his previous over. The left-arm pacer continues to bowl well, conceding just four singles as Dhoni is unable to get the big hits away with India scoring just 10 runs from the last two overs.

Good disciplined bowling from Pakistan gets them the wicket of Raina, who attempts to pull Sohail Khan but ends up slicing it on the leg side. Sohail judges a high catch to perfection to send back Raina after a cracking innings of 74 from 56 balls, having hit five fours and three sixes.

Dhoni is gifted a full toss which he despatches into the stands over midwicket for his first six.

Sohail bowls a good yorker to Kohli, who is forced to defend it. He loses his wicket off the next ball as he throws his bat at a wide delivery but gets an edge which is gobbled up by the wicketkeeper.

Kohli walks back to a standing ovation after a superb innings of 107 from 126 balls, having hit eight fours. He put on a damaging stand of 110 runs from 15.3 overs for the third wicket with Raina as the duo changed gears effectively in the last few overs to put India on course for a huge total.

Captain Dhoni has come out with a purpose. The second ball he faces is slapped powerfully through the covers for a boundary and he picks two runs from the last ball.

Pacer Sohail comes back. The first ball is short as Raina tries to flick off his hips but fails to make connection as Pakistan appeal for caught down the leg side which is turned. Misbah reviews the appeal but again it goes in favour of the batsman with no evidence of any bat on it.

Two balls later Raina gets it over the short fine leg fielder for a four and then slams the next through mid-off for the same result.

Raina then mishits the fifth ball but still manages to get it square on the leg side to make it a hat-trick of fours as India race to 259 for two in 44 overs.

Irfan comes back and he immediately comes under attack. Kohli lofts the first ball over midwicket for a four before he bowls a high full toss which is called a no-ball for height.

Raina then pulls a bouncer over the square leg region for a four before Irfan bowls another high bouncer and gets another warning. He is living on the edge, two warnings for running on the pitch and two more for bowling high full toss.

India have hammered 49 runs from the last four overs to reach 273 for two in 45 overs with Kohli on 107 and Raina on 72.

Kohli takes a single from the first ball to long-on to complete his century from 119 balls. He becomes the first Indian to score a century against Pakistan in the World Cup.

Raina then swats Afridi behind square on the leg side for a six before he takes one to race to his fifty from 40 balls.

India in complete control at the moment as they reach 245 for two in 43 overs with Kohli on 101 and Raina on 50.

Raina looking to attack Afridi as he comes down and lofts the leg-spinner over midwicket but gets just two runs as seven come from that over.

Now spin from both ends as Raina again comes down and again he gets just two runs on the leg side. But off the next ball he makes proper connection and lofts it high over midwicket for a huge six.

Kohli drives the fifth ball through the covers for a single to take his score to 99 as India get 11 runs from the over.

Riaz drops short and Raina, who seems to be waiting for it, pulls it over midwicket for a four. The next is pulled again but only for a single to deep square leg.

Kohli is beaten by the incoming delivery and he is lucky that it didn't take the inside edge before he takes a single from the last ball.

Irfan drifts down the leg side as Kohli helps it round the corner for a four to move into the 90s. But he manages to pull back things with just three runs from the rest of the over.

Interestingly, India not taking any undue risks in the Batting Powerplay so far. Maybe preserving their wickets to go all out in the final few overs.

Riaz to bowl the final over of the Powerplay as Pakistan decide against using spin. Raina takes a single from the first ball before Kohli does the same two balls later.

Raina then plays a controlled pull shot all along the ground to fine leg for a single and Kohli retains strike with a single from the last ball.

India managed just 25 runs from the five overs of Batting Powerplay to reach 217 for two in 40 overs.

Kohli is set for another century, having made 94 from 113 balls and Raina is on 30 from 31 balls.

India need a flurry of boundaries in the last 10 overs to get past the 300-run mark. They were unusually quite defensive in the Powerplay, which has cost them a bit of momentum.

The Batting Powerplay comes into effect. Will India alter their tactics and go into attacking mode or will they continue to play normally?

Pacer Riaz comes back into the attack and he does well by bowling it up and right on the stumps. He bowls a tidy over conceding just four singles in the 36th over.

Irfan is back and he switches to round the wicket hoping to stay away from the danger area having been warned twice already.

Kohli takes a single from the first ball on the off-side before Raina drives the next through the covers for two runs. He plays two good shots off the next two deliveries but can't beat the fielder at point before another forceful shot is stopped at mid-on. Raina then pulls a short ball on the leg side for a single to bring up India's 200.

Just eight runs from the first two overs of the Batting Powerplay.

Yasir, who has been hit for 49 runs in seven overs in his first spell, makes way for Afridi. Raina slaps the first ball behind square on the off-side for a couple followed by one.

Kohli is beaten for pace as he inside edges one that goes through the vacant fine leg region where a slow-moving Irfan gives charge as Kohli and Raina picks three easy runs. Two singles from the last two balls make it 181 for two from 33 overs.

Sohail continues as Kohli takes a single from the first ball before Raina comes down but is unable to beat the fielder at mid-off.

DROPPED! Raina then pulls a short ball as Yasir puts down another chance at deep midwicket and deflects it over the ropes for a six. This is the second catch that Yasir has put down after he dropped Kohli early on his innings. Three dropped catches by Pakistan already and it looks like these fielding lapses would hurt them deeply.

Afridi rushes through his sixth over conceding just two singles as India reach 192 for two in 35 overs with Kohli on 83 from 97 balls and Raina on 17 from as many balls.

Raina gets off the mark with a single on the off-side before Kohli turns Yasir on the leg side for another run. India keep milking the leg-spinner as they pick six runs from Yasir's seventh over.

DROPPED! Part-time Sohail continues and Kohli gets another lifeline as makeshift wicketkeeper Umar Akmal puts down a regulation chance. Kohli, on 76, gets an outside edge which Akmal puts down the easy catch to get another lifeline.

Pakistan introduce left-arm spinner Haris Sohail into the attack. He starts with a short ball which Kohli punches through the covers for two runs to the deep. Five easy runs from Sohail's first over as India continue to cruise in the middle overs with both batsmen in their 60s.

Yasir continues as Kohli flicks him to midwicket for two runs before he punches it down to long-on for one.

Dhawan comes down the track and lofts Shah over midwicket for a four and then drives the next through the off-side for the same result to get 12 runs from the over.

Kohli turns Sohail on the leg side and sprints back for two runs before he cuts the next past point for a four, his sixth of the innings.

Against the run of play, India lose the wicket of Dhawan, who is run out for a fluent 73, having hit seven fours and a six in 76 balls. What a waste of a wicket!

Kohli tapped it on the leg side and set for a single before changing his mind but Dhawan was already halfway down the track. He tried to retreat back but the direct hit from Misbah at short midwicket caught him short to give Pakistan a vital breakthrough.

Dhawan provided India with a solid platform as he put on 129 runs from 134 balls for the second wicket with Kohli.

Interesting, India have sent in Suresh Raina at No. 4 ahead of the in-form Ajinkya Rahane with a view to keep the left-right combination going.

Irfan is warned by the umpire for running on the pitch as he encroaches the danger areas on his follow through. That is the first official warning and two more warnings and he will not be allowed to bowl again!

Kohli takes a quick single from the second ball and is hit on the body as the fielder at point attempt to hit the stumps at the non-strikers end.

Three balls later he gets another official warning and is on the threat of being called off if he gets another warning.

As expected Pakistan bring back their premier pace bowler Irfan back for his second spell.

Irfan struggled to make an impact with the new ball in his first spell. Kohli starts with a single from the first ball on the off-side and Dhawan tucks the next to midwicket for another single.

He tries a short ball to Kohli who looks to be caught in two minds over playing the pull before deciding to offer no stroke and gets a wide. Two singles from the last two deliveries make it five runs from the over.

India have been quite positive against Yasir not letting him settle down. Dhawan continues to give him the charge as he takes a single to long-on before Kohli gets one to the same region. A single each to the two batsmen from the last two deliveries makes it four runs from the over.

At the halfway stage, India are 131 for one in 25 overs with Dhawan on 58 from 64 balls and Kohli on 54 from 66 balls. The two batsmen have put on 97 runs for the second wicket from 105 deliveries as India threaten to post a big total at this stage.

Kohli jumps down the track and smashes the spinner down the ground as Irfan, at long-off, is unable to get down in time and gives away a boundary. He turns the fifth ball to short fine leg for a single to bring up his fifty, from 60 balls.

Kohli comes down the track to leg-spinner and plays out the inside out lofted shot over the covers for a boundary to bring up India's 100. Two balls later, he rocks back and cuts one very late behind point for another four to take his score to 42.

In the next over, Dhawan takes a single to bring up his half-century from 54 balls, his 12th in ODIs. A big sigh of relief from the left-hander, who ends his run of poor scores in Australia and gets a big hug from his partner Kohli.

Kohli then takes a single on the off-side from the fourth delivery before Dhawan ducks under a short ball from the left-arm pacer. The last ball is short and wide as Dhawan smashes it past point for a boundary to take the score to 115 for one in 22 overs.
