WI 115-5 (30 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

The players are back out on the middle after a brief delay of nearly 10 minutes. Samuels is back on strike against Ishant, who still has two deliveries left. He starts with a short wide delivery as Samuels goes after it but is beaten.

Ashwin from the other end. Chase drives the third ball through the off-side for two runs to get off the mark before he is beaten by one which goes straight, it was more a seam up delivery which went past the outside edge.

Ishant has lost his bite which was so evident in the first few overs. He suffers some punishment at the hands of Samuels, who crashes him for three successive fours through the off-side. Twice Ishant gifted Samuels short wide deliveries which edging one of them past the slips to get going in the post lunch session.

West Indies seem to have a plan to target Ashwin. This time Samuels uses his feet and lofts Ashwin down the ground for a six but the off-spinner gets revenge off the very next delivery.

Despite the six, Ashwin again gives it a lot of flight as Samuels comes down and looks for flick but gets an inside edge and is caught at short leg by Rahul.

Samuels also opens up his shoulder as he smashes a short wide ball from Yadav over point and it carries all the way for a six.

In the next over, Blackwood continues his attacking approach as he goes after Mishra, hitting him back over his head for a six even though he looked to have mishit it. He is beaten off the last ball as Mishra gets one to turn right past the defensive prod of the right-hander. Mishra is unhappy that the appeal has been turned down.

Both Ashwin and Mishra getting a lot of turn from the day one pitch and this is just the first session of the match. Wonder if it is due to dampness on the track?

Ashwin finally makes the breakthrough with the key wicket of Blackwood, who is trapped leg before wicket after a quickfire innings of 62 from as many balls.

The right-hander, who hit seven fours and four sixes in his counter-attacking knock, comes half forward to defend but is struck on the pads right in line.

Infact, Viv Richards on commentary is unhappy with the decision saying the ball turned a lot and Blackwood was unhappy to be ruled out.

A wicket just at the right time for the Indians in the final over of the session as West Indies go into the lunch break at 88 for four in 26 overs.

Samuels, who survived a nervy start, is unbeaten on 14 from 71 balls, while Roston Chase sees off the last three balls of the over.

Mishra bowls an unplayable delivery to Samuels, the big turning leg spinner which turns big to beat the right-hander who comes forward to defend.

The last ball is the googly which turns the other way and Samuels looks to cut but somehow defends it on the off-side.

Yadav overpitches slightly and Blackwood hammers it down the ground past mid-off for a four. The pacer tries a short ball which the right-hander turns to fine leg for a single.

WI 21-3 (10 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

Ishant bowls another no-ball but Blackwood is beaten outside the off-stump as he pokes at a short wide ball.

Sanjay Manjrekar in commentary says the best shot on this kind of wicket is the "leave alone" shot before Blackwood throws his bat at another wide delivery and is beaten. This is really poor and mindless cricket from the West Indies and Sunil Gavaskar rightly calls it "a nothing shot".

Ishant errs again with his line as he strays on the pads and Blackwood helps the inswinger fine on the leg side for a four.

Samuels is yet to get off the mark from 17 balls as he attempts a quick single but Rahane swoops in quickly from gully and nearly creates a run out. The Indians have been quite sharp on the field and not letting go off the pressure they have created courtesy of the early wickets.

Shami tests Samuels with a couple of short balls but he is content to duck under it and is yet to score from 23 balls.

West Indies reach 21 for three in 10 overs.

19:27   Rahul to replace Vijay as India aim to continue momentum
Welcome to the coverage of the second Test match between West Indies and India at Sabina Park, in Kingston, Jamaica, on Saturday.

The pitch is expected to be helpful for the fast bowlers but nothing would worry India, who had all their seamers -- Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Shami -- performing well above expectations in the first match, which the visitors won by an innings and 92 runs within four days.

The Virat Kohli-led side would be looking to carry on the momentum they gained in the first match and continue their dominating performance in the second Test.

Captain Kohli has said that his batsmen will have to take more responsibility on a "result-oriented" green wicket laid out for the second Test against the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica.

"We are happy the wicket is going to have some bounce and carry. There was decent enough bounce in Antigua for us to exploit whatever help was there. Jamaica is going to be even better. It's a result-oriented ground and we're quite excited about it. It's obviously going to take more application than we showed at Antigua. It's going to take more responsibility and more concentration by the batsmen to get the job done," Kohli said.

"We believe that our batsmen are good enough to tackle any pace and bounce that West Indies' bowlers have. The plan is to go out there and play with the determination and focus that we showed in the first game," the India captain added.
