SL 97-2 (25 ovs) vs India | Scorecard

Left-arm spinner Axar Patel comes into the attack in place of Pandya, who bowled four overs for 22 runs. The left-arm spinner also bowls a tight over, giving away just three singles.

Thirimanne looks to break the shackles as he plays the inside out lofted shot against Chahal but gets two runs to deep point. He looks to drive the next ball but gets an inside edge which nearly goes back on to the stumps. He sneaks a single to make it three runs from the over with India continuing to build the pressure by drying up the boundaries.

Both the spinners are going at exactly three runs per over, with Chahal giving away 18 runs in six overs, while Axar has conceded six runs in two overs.

Change of ends for Pandya as he takes over from Chahal. He starts with a leg side wide before he pulls one to fine leg for a single.

Chandimal again top edges the pull but it falls away from Kohli, who rushes back from square leg. However he pulls the last ball confidently through the middle for a boundary.

Chandimal, on 35, gets a lifeline as Dhoni misses an easy run out chance. The right-hander had gone down a long way to steal a quick single and was sent back. KL Rahul sent in a good throw from midwicket inside the circle and Dhoni collected it front of the stumps but fails to break the stumps with the batsman long way out.

Sri Lanka continue to make steady progress to reach 97 for two in 25 overs, with Chandimal on 35 and Thirimanne on 39.
