STUMPS - DAY 1

India 356-3 (90 ovs) vs B'desh | Scorecard

A day which belonged to India as they made most of batting first on a good opening day wicket, posting a healthy 356 for three in 90 overs for a run rate of nearly four.

Infact, the hosts ended the day strongly as they hit 144 runs in 32 overs in the post-tea session, while losing just one wicket.

Kohli led the way with a sparkling innings of 111 from 141 balls, having hit 12 fours, while Vijay stroked 108, with the help of 12 fours and a six.

Rahane got back to form with a few crispy boundaries and was unbeaten on 45, having hit seven fours, at stumps on Day 1.

Cheteshwar Pujara was unlucky to miss out on a century as he was caught behind off Mehedi Hasan after a good innings of 83. He had put on 178 runs for the second wicket with Vijay to rally India after the early dismissal of KL Rahul (2), in the very first over of the innings to Taskin Ahmed.

The only way back for Bangladesh will be a few quick wickets early on Day 2 or else India look like ending up with a massive first innings score.
