Vijay, Pujara rally India after early wicket

India 69-1 (20 ovs) vs B'desh | Scorecard

The runs are coming a bit more freely for the Indians as Pujara drives a full delivery from Islam, who is bowling his eighth over on the trot, past mid-on for three runs. Vijay then drives the next ball through the covers for a couple before he slashes a wide delivery over point for a four.

Islam tries the short ball and this time Vijay pulls it to fine leg for a single.

Spin from both ends as left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan comes into the attack in place of Islam, who bowled a long first spell of eight overs for 39 runs.

He has a LBW appeal turned down off the first ball with Vijay getting an inside edge before he plays out the rest of the over.

India get a lifeline as Bangladesh's poor fielding hurts them yet again. Vijay and Pujara are stranded at the same end as the former finally sets off for the single after initially deciding not to run. However, the bowler Hasan fails to collect the ball from the throw from the fielder at square with Vijay struggling to make his crease. A golden opportunity lost by Bangladesh to make another crucial breakthrough.

Vijay and Pujara will need to sort out their running as throwing away their wickets on this beautiful batting pitch will be a big crime after spending some time at the wicket and getting set.

Half an hour to go for lunch as Takin comes back as he bowls a maiden to Pujara.

India have survived a few close shaves to reach 69 for one in 20 overs. Pujara has made 31 from 61 balls, while Vijay is batting on 36 from 54 balls.
