Sunrisers 82-2 (10 ovs) vs Gujarat 154 | Scorecard

It's the rebuilding phase for Sunrisers and even Warner knows the importance of a partnership to steer their team out of trouble.

Warner and new batsman Vijay Shankar pick a single each before the former plays three dot balls in a row off Sangwan.

Praveen to continue as he bowls his third over in a row and Gujarat have a man at slip for him against Shankar.

The pressure continues to build as Shankar plays two dot balls before taking a single. Praveen then bowls a good yorker but Warner gets his bat down in time and punches it down the ground for a much-needed four for Sunrisers.

James Faulkner comes into the attack in place of Sangwan. Shankar is gifted four runs as he hits it straight to point where Jadeja has a go at the stumps but misses and gives away four overthrows.

Faulkner produces the edge off Shankar (6) but wicketkeeper Karthik puts down a tough catch diving to his right.

Warner also gets a thick outside edge off the last ball which goes through the vacant thirdman region for another boundary as 14 runs come from the over.

Munaf Patel replaces Praveen, who bowled a good first spell of two for 17 in three overs. He also sends down a tight over, giving away five runs as Sunrisers go past the 50-run mark, in the seventh over.

Spin introduced as left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja comes into the attack. The left-armer looks to continue the recent good work by his team mates as he keeps things in check by conceding just six in his first over.

Warner has had enough of defending. He steers a short wide delivery from Munaf past the point fielder for a four and then takes a single.

Shankar swings the third ball across the line over midwicket for a couple before he edges the last ball for a four.

The 13 runs helps Sunrisers push the tempo slightly to take the score to 71 for two in nine overs.

Leg-spinner Ankit Soni is unlucky not to pick up the wicket of Warner (29) after he had got an outside edge but the umpire turns down the appeal.

He then hits the spinner for a four through the off-side and Shankar pulls a short ball to midwicket for a four to take Sunrisers to 82 for two in 10 overs.
