LIVE IPL Auction: Teams set to resume battle on Day 2

Welcome to the coverage of Day 2 of the Indian Premier League Players' Auction in Bengaluru on Sunday.

Around 500 players are up for grabs on Day 2.

It remains to be seen how many of them actually come up in the auctions with the franchises asked to name the players from the remaining list whom they would like to see back for bidding on the second day.

It was an action-packed Day 1 on Saturday as a total of 78 players were sold on the opening day, including 29 overseas players as the franchises spent a total of Rs. 3,21, 10, 00,000.

Ben Stokes was the costliest purchase of the day with a massive bid of Rs. 12.5 crore from Rajasthan Royals.

Karnataka duo of KL Rahul and Manish Pandey also got huge bids of Rs. 11 crore each, from Kings XI Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively.

Kolkata Knight Riders paid Rs. 9.6 crore for hard-hitting Chris Lynn and Rs. 9.4 crore for Mitchell Starc.

Another Australian who was in demand was Glenn Maxwell, who was bought by Delhi Daredevils for Rs. 9 crore.

Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs. 9 crore while Mumbai Indians also kept Krunal Pandya for Rs. 8.8 crore.

However, many fans were left stunned as veterans Chris Gayle and Lasith Malinga were left unsold.
