India 318-4 (67 ovs) vs Afghanistan | Scorecard

Leg-spinner Rashid comes back and he makes a good comeback sending down his first maiden over, his first after 18 overs.

Ahmadzai comes back into the attack and he bowls a tidy over to Pujara, who is happy to see it off carefully.

The runs have dried up considerably as Ahmadzai, who has taken two wickets so far, bowls another maiden over.

Rahane turns Rashid on the leg side for a single before Pujara also takes one as the leg-spinner manages to repair his figures after going for runs early on.

Spin from both ends as Mujeeb comes back into the attack. A single to Pujara before Rahane slaps a wide delivery through the covers for a four.

Rashid has managed to get his control back as he looks to keep things simple, conceding just a single in his 20th over.

But at the other end, Mujeeb continues to struggle. He bowls a short ball which slips down the leg side and Pujara manages to pull it behind square for a four and then takes one.

He strikes Rahane on the pads with the googly but the appeal for LBW is turned down as the India skipper had got a thick inside edge.

Rahane, who has struggled for 10 from 44 balls, is beaten by Rashid with one that is quicker and turns slightly but enough to beat the flick.

The appeal for LBW is turned down but Afghanistan are not convinced as they take the DRS.

Rahane went back but misses the flick and is struck right in front of the stumps with the ball going on to hit the stumps.

The umpire has to overturn his decision as Rahane walks back for a disappointing 10 from 45 balls with Rashid finally picking up his maiden Test wicket, in his 21st over after a hard day's toil on the opening day.

Rashid bowling a lot of leg breaks now. This time Dinesh Karthik is dragged into the forward defense as the ball turns enough to beat the tentative poke, that was not far from the edge.

A terrific over from Rashid, easily his best of the day so far as Afghanistan continue to chip away at the wickets.
