Pakistan need wickets to make a comeback in the contest but captain Sarfraz content to go on the defensive, with a well spread out field and no fielders in catching position.

The singles are coming quite easily for India as they milk Shadab for three easy runs in the 14th over.

Nawaz gets Rohit to edge one as the ball turns slightly but it goes through the vacant slip region for a couple.

Immediately a fielder is brought into the slips but Rohit picks one to long-off and Dhawan collects a quick run on the off-side.

Rohit then drives Nawaz to long-on for one for five from the over.

India sitting in control on 72 for no loss in 15 overs, with Dhawan on 43 and Rohit on 28.

Lot of gaps in the field and no pressure of the asking rate, which is under five, as the two openers collect three from Shadab's third over.

Six overs without a boundary before Rohit sweeps Nawaz past short fine leg for a four. He taps the next ball into the covers and picks up an easy run.

Dhawan chips down the track but has to adjust as he blocks before he drives the left-arm spinner down to long-on for one.

The last ball is short and wide as Rohit cuts it past point for a four to take the score to 85 for no loss in 17 overs.
